There’s been a lot of changes lately, we’ve relocated from London to Brighton, you now have a bigger home but you’ve had to start a new school. It hasn’t been plain sailing, the other kids weren’t so welcoming in your first week; I think you found that really tough, especially coming from a school where everyone loved you. It won’t be long before all the kids at the new school love you too, just wait and see. Although there have been a few hiccups you’ve taken everything in your stride and have now settled and made some new friends. You’re doing really well with your handwriting, you have huge motivation to learn new things, without motivation what do you have?
We live on a quiet road, just next to Queen’s park. You have helped me make new friends, because you made them first. About seven children on our street know you and say hallo to you, three of them play with you regularly and I am now good friends with their mums. That’s all down to you. You have helped me settle into our new life by embracing it and declaring your enthusiasm at any given opportunity.
Moving to Brighton is the best thing we’ve done. Although you don’t see your dad as much I think you will get used to it; we are working it out so you get to see him for more weekends and holidays. Know that we’re doing everything we can to make sure you see him as much as possible.
We have a lot to look forward to. I’ve just changed direction and become self-employed, this in itself brings new challenges, but it’s all part of the ‘big plan’. The plan is to spend more time with you and to have a better quality of life.
We have some exciting, challenging and happy times ahead. All of these things will be good for us, even if they feel bad at the time. I love that we’ve started this new journey together.
